Committees
The Dubuque County Empowerment Board includes five standing committees described as follows:
Board Development Committee:
This committee is accountable for the process of the election of new members
and the selection of officers. It also is responsible to organize an orientation
program for new members.
Early Childhood Task Force:
The Early
Childhood Task Force will identify unmet needs; link with other organizations
interested in child care issues; and together, with direction and support
from the board, seek solutions. 
Goals include:
- All caregivers will provide consistent and dependable quality of care.
- Quality child care will be accessible to all families who need it.
Long-Range Planning Committee:
This committee assists the board in developing and implementing a long-range
plan to achieve our mission.
Public Relations Committee:
The purpose of this committee is to design a public relations campaign
to educate the citizens of Dubuque County about Empowerment. The goal
is that all citizens of Dubuque will be familiar with the purpose of Empowerment.
School Ready/Health Committee:
The goal of the School Ready/Health
Committee is to identify gaps and unmet needs that relate to school
readiness and health of children aged 0-5 years. Once identified, the
committee prioritizes and recommends to the Empowerment Board possible
projects, initiatives, and collaborations.
